Our Playout 2.0 is designed to make creating playout channels easy with tools such as a horizontal programming timeline, the ability to insert live video or ad breaks, API tools to customize to your use case, and a robust list of popular streaming destinations.
This past month we enhanced our Playout 2.0 offering with some new destinations and features, making it even easier for you to create and monetize FAST, pop-up or always-on channels of curated content.
New Playout 2.0 destination connectors like YouTube and Twitch mean your video can be streamed easily to two of the most in demand outlets across web, mobile and CTV devices. When setting up your channel, select the desired preset destination from the destinations options and fill in the URL details to start streaming in 1080p or 720p.
With our new Ad Suppression feature, Playout 2.0 users can send playout streams to destinations that have ad suppression capabilities as a requirement or for compliance purposes. Destinations that require Ad Suppression give end users the ability to control whether or not they receive personalized ad delivery. With this feature enabled, users can restrict ads from being inserted on SSAI enabled Playout destinations. Instead the manifest is sent with ad markers only, which can then be filled by a client provided fallback slate.
The feature can be configured to match criteria specified by the client, leveraging the end user device query parameter data on Ad requests to identify and isolate sessions that should either have Ads inserted or not.
The Ad Suppression feature can be configured on a per Playout destination basis. To configure Ad Suppression, go to your channel and click on the Destination for which you’d like to enable Ad Suppression.
We’ve updated the user experience for the Program Guides and Categories pages in Zype Admin. These pages now reflect new styling and provide a more intuitive experience so that you can more easily add or edit new Program Guides or Categories. Updates include updated breadcrumbs for easy navigation, new “tool tips” for helpful info assistance, updated tables and a new search bar.
Here’s a preview of some product enhancements we’re working on this month to further improve your video workflows:
